Congratulations to all the participants of the 2010 Alberta Closed held at the Glencoe Club on February 26-28, 2010. The 2010 Women's Provincial Champion, Kelsey Souchereau, and runner up, Heather Yong. A hard fought battle between the Schnell brothers saw Andrew Schnell take the title of 2010 Men's Provincial Champion with Graeme Schnell as the runner up. For results CLICK HERE
EDMONTON REFEREE CERTIFICATION COURSE

Squash Alberta will be holding a singles referee certification course at the Royal Glenora on March 22 and March 29 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. This course is offered to all Squash Alberta members for a fee of $40 and for non-members for a fee of $55.
The initial certification that all candidates of the Officiating Program receive is designated as D-4. The D signifies the first level of Referee status, and the attached number signifies the first level of Marker status. This grade is obtained when the candidate has successfully completed the following:
Full attendance at the Certification Clinic, comprising of:
· Power Point presentation
· On Court Demonstration
· Successful completion of the written exam.
· Successful completion of the practical exam.

Squash Professional Receives Calgary Booster Club Honour

Each year the Calgary Booster Club recognizes individuals based on their contributions to sport and the community. Arthur Hough, Head Squash Professional of the Glencoe Club, will be formally honoured as one of the Booster Club's 2010 Athletic Leaders at the 57th annual Sportsman of the Year dinner on March 16 at McMahon Stadium's Red and White Club. Squash Alberta congratulates Arthur on this outstanding achievement.
